Atraksyong Magaganda sa Bustos - A Basic Photography Seminar

Under the auspices project of Mayor Arnel Mendoza of Bustos, Bulacan, I was given the opportunity to attend the free basic photography workshop sponsored by the Municipality of Bustos held at Villa Rosalinda Events Venue.

The Honorable  Mayor was even more generous to offer the workshop not only to Bustos but throughout the province of Bulacan. I reside in Plaridel which is the nearby town of Bustos J Thank you po for allowing us to participate in this project.

The said project aims to promote the tourism of Bustos focusing on the theme of “Atraksyong Magaganda sa Bustos”.

Participants were given lectures and techniques by Mr. Val E. Rodriguez, Chief Photojournalist of The Philippine Star and a favorite photographer of the late President Corazon Aquino.

While Mr. Borj Meneses,  a contributing photographer of FHM and other known magazines gave his take of Basic Photography and some post processing wonders .

Since both photographers were known Ambassadors of Canon, Canon Marketing were also present during the event. All canon user attendees were given free service cleaning of their cameras and lenses. It’s a good thing, I’m an avid Canon user since then so I was able to avail the free cleaning services J.

Long before, I’ve only known Bustos for its delicacies. If Malolos has its ensaymada and San Miguel has its Pastillas de leche, Bustos has its pride of Minasa cookie and dry wafer like Barquillos. In fact these products has been a favorite pasalubong of some Bulakenyos.

Today, Bustos has been continuously making wave in promoting their town. The Minasa Festival,  a one week event televised activity showcasing  the colorful parade of street dancing, local delicacies and photo exhibits of some of the known tourist attraction and cultural heritage sites of Bustos is one of the pride and successful project of the municipality. In fact, chosen photos for the photography workshop will be seen in the photo exhibit in SM Baliuag next January 2014.

During the photowalk, the participants were divided into different groups. I was grouped and assigned to visit, Our Daily Bread Farm, Ivatan House of Nazareth Orphanage, Bustos Dam and Mercado Ancestral House. This is my first real photowalk experience and I could say that this was indeed an awesome and fun learning experience. Photo enthusiast of all ages gathered for one purpose which is to capture the fun and beauty of Bustos.

Allow me to share with you some of my shots during the photowalk :)

The opportunity and experience I have obtained during the seminar is indeed a once in a lifetime experience. With this seminar, I was able to explore the wanders of Bustos and the bonus part of it, you acquired new friends sharing the same passion for photography. Salute to the Office of the Mayor for spearheading this successful endeavor. Good luck and More Power to All.

The Avengers Assembled at Klirwater Park Resort

My kids really love to swim and this is one of the reasons why we have explored some of the newest and kid friendly resort in Bulacan. Of course, the wave technology offered is a plus factor 'though it is a bit more pricier than  the regular non-wave pool resorts, the fun and the laughter it brings to my kids are priceless!!!

My eldest wished a swimming party for his 8th Avengers themed birthday and of course as a mom, the genie in me emerged to grant the Master's request but unlike the real genie  in the typical kid's bedtime stories, I'm the budget-conscious type (lols). Budget, ambience, and the pool cleanliness are usually my decisive factors in choosing a resort.

To celebrate my eldest 8th birthday, we decided to try Klirwater Park Resort located in Kabilang Bakood, Guiguinto, Bulacan. It is one of the newest wavepool resort in Bulacan. In fact, it was still on its soft-opening stage during our visit last June of 2012.

Klirwater Park Resort is a 3 hectare land resort property managed by Klir Construct . I've  heard that the management is also the pool contractor of some of the well-known resorts in the province. Considering the location, it is one of the most accessible resort from Manila, with just 30 minute drive from Balintawak Tollways via North Luzon Expressway with Sta. Rita Exit as your point of entry.

It offers 4 different types of pool and one of which is the 3,500 square meter wave pool and considered to be one of the biggest in Bulacan. It is unfortunate that during our visit it was not operated due we are less than 50 pax of the resort's requirement :( What compliment the non-wave visit? Well, the resort was less crowded as if we have rented the whole place for my son's birthday :) (so pwede na din di ba?)

Unlike other wavepool resorts, Klirwater Park has no specific theme, what I have noticed are the different  rock and stone formations used to accentuate the pools. Kiddie pool has various playful  sea lions and dolphins which the kid can play or goof around.

Klirwater Park Resort has a lot to offer to all its guests and visitors.Unlike any other resorts which are usually situated in farm or in middle of the ricefields, Klirwater Park is just a stone away from the nearby Rocka Subdivision.
Aside from the various cottages spread around the resort, Klirwater has also a hotel facilities with different type of rooms as well as some airconditioned and open-spaced function areas  for your events requirements depending on your preference. It has wide and ample parking space too for your vehicles.

With all the smiles from their face, the Avengers truly assembled at Klirwater Park Resork. But I guess, since they have no on-call duties to protect the Planet Earth, they have to recharge first their supernatural powers   at the pools of Klirwater Park Resort  :)

Date of Visit : June 2012

If you want to consider this resort on your next summer get-away or a venue for your next family events and corporate team buildings and seminar requirements, please take time to check and visit their site below:

A Rainy Day Adventure with Lolong @ Sitio Antonio Resort

With the sprouting of thematic wavepool resorts in the province, not to mention its proximity and  accessible location via North Luzon Expressway, Bulacan has already attracted numerous wavepool fanatic guests and families from Manila and the nearby provinces. Thus, Bulacan can be considered as the resort tourism capital of Luzon.

While in search for a resort for my son’s birthday last week, I’ve discovered a recently opened wavepool resort in Pandi, Bulacan.  Sitio Antonio Wavepool Resort has its soft-opening operation last May of 2013. The attraction of the resort is the Lolong Wavepool Resort with a 25 ft long Crocodile named after “Lolong”,  the largest crocodile captured in Agusan region.
